Ecclesia believes that outside input is a necessity for congregational vitality and a church planter’s maximum effectiveness. Through the network, we seek to provide an array of resources and leaders that are able to help fellow congregations towards missional health. Our role is to create space for churches to access the expertise of a variety of leaders according to their own needs and developmental stages.
Church planter assessments are vigorous deep-dives into the heart, mind, giftings and ministry philosophy of potential church planters. Our goal is not to tell you whether or not you should plant a church, but rather, if/as you go, what you need to be mindful of, who you need to invite along to ensure a balance of giftings, and what potential trouble spots you will need to address. We assess from a place of encouragement, not judging fitness. We’d like to see everyone who feels called to plant a church do so- our goal is to help them gather the right team, engage the right resources and training and finally, listen deeply to as the Spirit moves us together on mission.
If you’d like more information on how we conduct assessments, or to explore the possibility for you or your team, please contact our Bob Hyatt, our Director of Equipping and Spiritual Formation.
We encourage every Ecclesia church to engage in a congregational assessment every 7 years. These are invaluable times where an Ecclesia staff member/equipper comes to your context, engages leaders and lay people alike, gets a sense of the strengths and growth areas inherent in the community and produces a report that highlights findings and makes recommendations. Every church that has engaged in this process has found the clarity, insights and tangible paths forward gained to be well worth the time and the cost.
If you’d like to know more, or would like to schedule an assessment for your community, please contact our National Director, Chris Backert.
